About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn! About the world, others and myself. I am currently living in Burleigh Heads, Australia and teaching English in a small international school.

Normally I am excited about making good friends all over the world that I can give back to and host when you are in my neck of the woods. But now that I am home, I am excited about giving back :)

ABOUT ME

Born in Melbourne and grew up on the Gold Coast, Australia. I'm a Psychology graduate and would love to pursue further studies in education, psychology or philosophy. For now ritual and rhythm through my everyday life is my priority.

I am often described as quiet at first, quirky, playful and easily excitable. Happiness tends to find me when I’m listening to live music, enjoying good company, laying on grass under the sun, exploring new places, learning and making a difference to an individual’s life or even day. I like to wear corduroy, velvet and overalls due to a childhood founded on thrift shopping. Over the last year I made a conscious decision to cut a lot of meat out of my diet and am a lenient vegetarian as I do eat meat when it's a cultural experience or delicacy that is new to me.

I have been on many journeys and am eager to take on more adventures! I have completed an exchange program in Calgary, Canada, traveled around North America for around four months total, road tripped around the Australian coastline for four months, lived in an intentional community at a summer camp in California two summers in a row, did a solo winter Euro trip for around three months, lived in Milan as an Au Pair for three months and taught English all over Austria in the public school system for 6 months.

PHILOSOPHY

During my time working at Camp Augusta we practised and pondered the philosophies of Nonviolent communication, Intentional speech, Your storied life, clean communication, failing forward and conscious leadership.

And I am a firm believer that a stupid and horrible sense of humour conquers all.
Open mindedness, free spirited nature and a willingness to learn are the qualities that I look for in others.
Life is all about perspective.
Making poor life choices to me is a sign of a life well spent.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE ON COUCHSURFING

To broaden my network of friends all over the world and get the most out of my travel experiences by meeting some great people. And hopefully give back other grateful travellers the day I get a place of my own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couchsurfing has been absolutely amazing and I am grateful to have met such great people to share these experiences with.

Interests

Meeting knowledgeable and like minded people who can share their experiences. I love watching live music, heading out to bars and dancing until I can't anymore, reading, I'm currently learning how to play guitar, love playing on the uke, hiking, embroidery, all animals will keep my attention for hours, attempting to surf, sitting in a nice patch of grass, painting and sometimes drawing also.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went kayaking at La Jolla beach in San Diego, the United States. The sun was setting and I decided to get into the water. While swimming a sea lion swam up to me and sniffed my face. He only stuck around for a couple seconds but it was an awesome experience to see it in its natural habitat.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Australian slang, how to count to ten in six different languages, and how to laugh at something that is not funny.
I'd love to learn all about you, your experiences and the way you see the world.
I can share with you my stories, life experiences, philosophy and some bad but funny jokes.
