About Me

Hey there! My name is Rodion, I am journalist, artist and father. I'm a curious, happy and talkative traveller who loves exploring new countries, meet new people. I believe the best way to travel is to hang out and stay with locals, and that's why I'm excited to be a part of the Couchsurfing community. I'm new on couch surfing, but I think it is a super idea of getting to know people around the world this way!

As a journalist, designer, and foodie, I love immersing myself into different cultures and discovering all the unique experiences that a place has to offer. Back in Riga, my hometown, I create a city guide magazine where I write reviews about restaurants, places, and events. I'm always on the lookout for hidden gems and local hotspots that aren't always found in guidebooks.

When I'm not working or travelling, I enjoy going to exhibitions and concerts of all genres, including jazz, classical, and rock music. I have a keen eye for design, and I love exploring new and interesting spaces. I also enjoy cooking, playing music, drawing, and capturing the world around me with my analogue camera.

I'm an open-minded, comfortable, and easy-going person to accommodate. I'm excited to meet new people and experience new cultures through Couchsurfing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm all about meeting new people and sharing good vibes. There's nothing quite like hanging out with new friends, cooking up a storm, or even pitching in to help with cleaning up. To me, these moments are what make travelling so special.

I truly believe that building new connections between cultures and personalities is incredibly important. There's so much to learn from one another, and sharing experiences with people from all walks of life can be truly eye-opening.

That's why I'm so excited to be a part of the Couchsurfing community! This platform provides an amazing opportunity to connect with locals and experience a destination in a unique and authentic way. Whether it's exploring hidden gems, trying out new foods, or simply chatting about life, I'm always down for a good time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hello there! As a Couchsurfing guest, I'm always excited to spend time with my hosts and learn more about their culture and way of life. One way I love to connect is through food, and I'd be happy to share my skills in making authentic Uzbek phelav with you. We can cook together and enjoy a delicious meal while chatting and getting to know each other better.

I like meditating, and I think it's a great way to unwind and connect with ourselves and each other. If you're interested, I'd be happy to lead a guided meditation or simply share a quiet moment together.
Or lets make a movie night! I'm always up for a good movie night.

I'm eager to learn more about your city and culture. I believe that sharing knowledge and experiences is what makes Couchsurfing so special, and I'm excited to discover all the unique aspects of your community. Whether it's exploring local hotspots or simply chatting about your favourite traditions and customs, I'm all ears.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a Couchsurfing guest, I love to contribute in any way I can to make my stay more enjoyable for both myself and my hosts. One thing I'm always happy to do is lend a hand with cleaning or cooking. Whether it's preparing a meal together or simply helping to tidy up after, I find it's a great way to bond and get to know each other better.

Of course, spending time together is always a highlight of any Couchsurfing experience for me. I enjoy talking about everything and anything, from philosophy and art to movies and books. There's so much to learn from each other, and I'm always interested in hearing different perspectives and opinions.

Overall, I believe that Couchsurfing is all about building connections and sharing experiences, and I'm excited to do just that with my hosts. I can't wait to see where our conversations and adventures take us!
