Overview
About Me
I was born in Guayaquil. I am a happy and optimistic person. I enjoy sharing time with tolerant and easy-going people, learning from their experiences and sharing mine.
I like doing things with fellow couchsurfers and friends such as: having long walks at parks, hiking, traveling to beaches or highlands, visiting waterfalls, watching music video clips (it may become a karaoke session easily), watching movies home (but I might attend a movie theater if they are screening a film I really like).
When in the city, I go to parties with friends and like dancing hip-house, EDM, reggaeton, salsa, salsa choke and, merengue. And, if there's no party, we simply, go out so the world can enjoy our company, ha, ha...
I am not really the club-type but I can attend one if there are no other options to dance.
I studied elementary and high school at a military school and, later, Computer Engineering.
I learned English by myself (I can learn many things by myself, in fact). But, to be honest, some native-speaking friends helped me and are still helping me a lot with the "slang'.
I try to take good care of myself. I do not drink alcohol, smoke or use recreational drugs. I am clean (even when sporting a longer beard, ha, ha.). I might share with you my ideas about the benefits of what I consider a healthy life style. But if you like any of those things I won't lecture you, force you to change or, anything like that. As I already said, I believe in showing respect to everyone despite our differences. On the other hand, if you are clean and well-mannered, let's create a club!
Besides, I almost never say "bad words" ("profanity" might be a more precise term). But, I understand that many persons around the world are used to speak like that.
So, you get the idea, I am a boy scout (but a bit bigger) who enjoys hanging out with cool and nice couchsurfers, he, he.
I have practiced some sports (e. g., volleyball) and martial arts (e. g., Ninjutsu) during my schools days. All those skills are mostly lost now, ha, ha, ha... Currently, I am into Calisthenics and Street Workout (beginner with no current plans to go beyond that, ha, ha).
I try to eat what I consider healthy food. Each person has a different idea about what healthy food is, by the way. But, when traveling, during weekends or, just unexpectedly, I just eat anything (but my guest, ha, ha).
Concerning religion, I like several pieces of doctrine and customs from several religions such as Buddhism and, specially, Mormonism and, try to behave according to them. I used to be a Soft Agnostic Secular Humanist for some "intermediate" years. I still believe that Secular Humanism is a great common ground for all of us. I think it is important we all respect the beliefs of other people. The main religion in Ecuador is Catholicism (in case you don't know it).
And finally, in case you wonder what I do to make my earnings, I do a loooooooot of things. The following is an extremely brief summary... Well, I am currently a college professor. I teach "Applied Mathematics and Physics for Video-Game Development" and, "Agile Methodologies for Software Development". Privately, I train people to pass the GRE, GMAT, TOEFL; and, several other standard tests. I also develop software as a free-lancer and have been a physical trainer. Besides, I privately teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Basic and Mid-level Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Management, Economics, Computer Programming and English at high school and university levels. From time to time I work for some school, too.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to strengthen this network to allow more people (including me, ha, ha) to see the world and meet as many amazing people as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music, from Big Band Era through Hip-Hop.
But I hardly like Bachata and Vallenato.
I like documentaries, history films, biographical films, military and war films, action movies and comedies.
But we can watch romantic comedy films, too, if you like them. I can be a bit more flexible here.
I love technical books. I never read novels but I know the themes and plots of some classic works.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Everything I do is amazing. Ha, ha, ha...
Now, seriously... It is censored. But, a lot of people like it, he, he... Just kiddin', again. Or, am I not? I challenge you to find out by yourself. Ha, ha, ha.
Now, the uncensored list (not necessarily amazing, maybe most things were just dangerous and irresponsible):
1. I trespassed on an Ecuadorian Air Force base and crossed a landing strip when several jet-fighters were about to land. (Well, technically, this wasn't amazing but dangerous and stupid, I was 14 years old, he, he.)
2. I escaped from 6 armed thieves in a university campus when nobody else was in it. (Yeah, a few university campuses used to be lonely places some days at some times. I was around 16 years old.)
3. I held the Copa Libertadores de América in my hands.
4. I helped some people make bricks by stomping on some kind of clay or a similar material.
5. I got the highest possible score for an Electromagnetic Theory exam (likely nobody else has done it in my university, gotta check this fact some way some day). (Yep, I have a nerdy side.)
6. I learned about couchsurfing.com and joined it, ha, ha, ha... I mean, THIS is the ONLY amaaaazing thing in this list!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you grammatically correct Spanish (the dialect you prefer) and English (General American, with hints about other dialects). I am a beginner Calisthenics practitioner but I can share what I know with you; and, I would really love to work out with you.
I am willing to learn whatever knowledge or skill you want to share with me (if I think it will be useful to me, he, he.). I would really like to learn your language, for instance.
I can show you places where you can watch, feed and pet iguanas, turtles (regular and giant); and, crocodiles (you are not allowed to feed them or getting close).
I can take you to places where you can eat some of my favorite dishes: bollo de pescado, cazuela mixta,
cebiches of several kinds, encebollados of several types, etc.
Concerning local traditional beverages, I would help you try morocho, colada morada and, resbaladera.
If we get along very well, I might suggest you to go on a trip to visit waterfalls (if in the coast region, we can swim around; the ones at the highlands are usually colder), beaches (popular or lonely ones, it depends on what you prefer),
I can share my point of view about any topic, including some "controversial" ones such as: life, Politics, cultures, religions and Strength Training. I like to discuss things and avoid arguing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can provide:
- Bedroom (shared with me.)
- Bathroom (with shower in my bedroom)
- Computer with Internet connection (to write e-mails and stuff like that)
- Kitchen (if there are more people, we might need to create some schedule if you all cook.)
- Time to have walks, street work out in late afternoons, travel or partying during weekends.
- All the smiles you need. I am 99.999999% of the time in good mood.
- My body and physical skills, ha, ha, ha, you know?, to carry heavy stuff and protect you from the bad guys, LOL!!!
WHERE AM I?
Depending on my work schedule: Guayaquil, Quito, Ambato, etc... So, contact me in advance, I can organize my schedule to be where you want to stay.
HOUSE RULES
1. No smoking (except at the balcony).
2. No recreational drugs.
3. No alcohol (there might be exceptions such as socially drinking at home parties).
4. You cannot remain in my place when I go out.
5. If you plan to do things on your own, we need to discuss arrival times.
6. Do not assume I will feed you. I might or not share some food with you which you may accept or reject. I will always respect your decisions about it. Do not feel obligated to eat or drink anything I might offer you.
