About Me

Hi! I'm Rodolfo, an Italian guy in love with meditation and cinema.
I was born in Rome, attended a French school -I got you baguette travellers- and changed 3 times university before finally graduating in Media Studies. Then I started a master in Filmmaking but bothered "mamma e papa" once more, leaving it after a year to learn it myself. Currently, I'm working from home for an AIFM and eventually (2022), I'll become a full-time independent director (and sound like the douchiest douche).

Meditation and mindfulness are huge passions. I've kept almost constant daily practice from my late teens, read books, did retreats... I'm always down for a session and super glad to talk about it. I mean I even actually consider that after enjoying the city life in London for some time, I'll try the monk life or something like that ahah.

I like great movies… I just love them. Talking, overanalysing, arguing for hours, criticising, bashing each other's tastes, Tarantino is overrated, Studio Ghibli is amazing… that's my jam.

Other interests: minimalism, personal development, psychology, philosophy, stand up comedy, and art in general.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used to host people in 2017 in Milan. Great times... despite maybe the time two guys left me outside of my flat twice and shaved their intimate parts with my shaver and forgot to flush. Great times.
Fast forward to 2022, London, and I live by myself again. Having people at home it's pleasant plus it makes me more productive (or, alternatively said, reduces the risk of spending nights watching films ahah). Also, it's great for the English, and I'm glad to help people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Vipassana retreat (10 days of silence and around 9h of meditation practice per day). Twice.

Teach, Learn, Share

- Meditation: I've meditated for more or less 1h daily for like 7 years, did retreats and read books. It's pretty simple and really helpful. I’ll be glad to welcome you to join a session, we will just do a beginner guided meditation with the app “Headspace” or just keep silent for a while :)

- Discuss, critique, debate, recommend, and share some passionate conversations on movies and hopefully just appreciate a great movie together. Movies are great because everybody can get them, at least the great ones. And if we don't we can insult the director or try to figure out what we've missed.
