About Me

Curiosity and the joy of creating are what move me through the world. I’m Rodrigo, and I love giving life to ideas.

Naturally curious since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to understand how things work. I ended up taking apart many toys just to see what was inside. This curiosity eventually led me to study engineering, but it also brought me closer to design, visual arts, and exploring the world.

Growing up in a small town in the south of Brazil put me in close contact with nature. This experience, combined with my passion for creating, led me to work with wood. Over time, adding what I’ve learned along the way, I brought light into the process and started creating wooden lamps — pieces where craftsmanship, design, and light come together. Also working in robotics right now.

I love being in nature, exploring forests, trails, and beaches. At the same time, I enjoy experiencing what cities have to offer: walking through local markets, discovering a great café or bar hidden at the end of a street, or going up to the highest point of a building just to see the city from above.

Sometimes DJ in my spare time. Also enjoy cooking and share great food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy discovering places through the people who live there, the neighborhood café, the small amazing places you would never find in a guidebook, the everyday rhythm of a place, the special spot in the park that only the local one knows.

Couchsurfing makes that possible. I’ve had some great experiences staying with people who opened their homes to me, and I’ve also hosted travelers myself. Those moments were always very enriching.

Interests

My interests go from space-time dilation to the constructive aspects of robots, and eventually land in philosophy.

We might find ourselves talking about how the moon influences plant growth while cooking something together, while we enjoy beautiful music in the background.

I’m genuinely interested in so many things that it’s hard to list them all here. I would probably have to write a book.

Maybe I will… who knows?
