About Me

I am an individual with a thriving passion for History, Languages and Culture. I love to read, write, listen to music, meet with other people, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing in the hopes of getting to know people from all over the world that happen to visit my country, or maybe the other way around, if I were to find myself in other countries.

Interests

The aforementioned, mostly: writing, reading, listening to music, meet other people, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love listening to classical music pieces, mostly from Mozart, Carl Orff and Tchaikovsky, as well as a bit of Verdi, Haydn, Händel and Rossini, too.

Movies? Tough one. I suppose my favourite one is the Star Wars saga. Then, there are a bunch of titles which strike my fancy as well: "A Clockwork Orange", "Unsere Mütter, unsere Väter", "Requiem for a Dream", "Inglourious Basterds", "Il Divo", "Der Untergang", etc.

My favourite book of all time - or saga, if you will - is The Lord of the Rings. Leo Tolstoi's Anna Karenina is a close call, being one of my favourite books of all time, alongside Ken Follett's"Pillars of the Earth" and "World without End". I loved G.J. Ballard's "Empire of the Sun" and Dmitry Glukhovsky's "Metro 2033" and "Metro 2034". I also love reading history books, and have a fair share of them. I cannot stress how much I loved Pierre Renouvin's "History of the International Relations", and can scarcely recommend a book as much as G.J. Meyer's "A World Undone". I am currently reading Barbara Tuchman's Pulitzer-winning narrative "The Guns of August", which, despite various flaws, I duly reccomend.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I guess travelling across Europe by myself... it was a daunting, yet thrilling experience!
