I beleive getting to really know a place that you visit isn't possible without sharing with locals. I'm interested in the Boaventura de Souza Santos concept of "hermeneutica diatópica" which is presented as a current and suggestive proposal that seeks to address the ethnocentric risks neoliberal globalization involves for cultural diversity from a postcolonial and emancipatory position, allowing the configuration of a an alternative model of intercultural relationships.
