About Me
Hello! My name is Roger Villanueva. I was born and raised in Laredo, TX, with a family background from Mexico. I grew up experiencing both American and Mexican cultures, and am fluent in English and Spanish, and am learning Japanese.
I am a lover of art, particularly of video games and animation, and currently I work as a game programmer for mobile games but I do some digital painting as a hobby. Follow me on Instagram! @pastacork
I aim to collect as many experiences as I can and make as many friends as possible, as life is short and beautiful and I want to make the most out of it. I also would love to meet others that seek to make the most out of their lives.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen to way too many types of music to be able to concisely describe what I focus on, but generally I hang out within the genres of metal, ambient electronic music, lo-fi hip hop, alternative/indie, mostly instrumental stuff as I find sometimes that the music itself speaks more than words can. Currently my favorite artists are - Beach House, Men I Trust, The Marias, Pietro Piccioni, Henry Mancini.
My all-time favorite song is Adagio for Strings, by Samuel Barber. A few minutes before the writing of this text here, I discovered he was actually 26 when he composed that song which I find absolutely insane. I feel like if the entire human race had a funeral, this song would be the most appropriate one to play for us as we come to an end as a species, as it feels like a summary of what it is to be a human being.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Back in the day I used to be really into this sport called "Tricking", which is basically what you get when gymnastics and martial arts aren't careful in the bedroom. Nowadays, kids are throwing extremely difficult tricks I never even dreamed of witnessing or doing myself - I never did anything difficult or front-page worthy, but relative to other humans even just doing a basic backflip is impressive. I've done a handful of flips and combinations I never imagined I'd ever be able to do, and I guess you can say I'm proud to have experienced the closest thing I can get to flying.
