ABOUT ME

I have a wide range of interests and like to read and travel. I tend to be an ideas person, very open to new people, new ideas. Very comfortable in different situations with new people cuz I grew up as an army brat traveling and moving frequently.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to follow the buddhist precepts of no lying, stealing, killing, sexual misconduct or intoxicants.
I am strongly heterosexual; I say that because of the prevailing homophobia. I think people often think that an older single man traveling alone must be gay. On the other hand, I am not homophobic and would be fine with staying at a homosexual person's place, free of sexual expectations of course. Looking for friends not sex!

I have couchsurfed in Bangalore, Mysore and Mexico City. Always a good experience so far.

Interests

I am not very focused on making money, so when I have the time and money I will travel. I am interested in how the world works so I read whatever comes to hand or inquire what folks are into; thus a wide range of interests. Know a little about a lot! I've done a lot of cycling including bike touring. I've been doing Vipassana meditation for many years and doing volunteer work at meditation centers; mostly maintenance work but whatever is needed, including software.
