About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoying Sydney friends and life!

ABOUT ME

Up for chilling out or going on massive adventures. The more spontaneous the better ;) Love listening to some tunes, getting into some sport or just chilling out at cafes/bars/home/beaches etc. with quality friends. Not too keen about the touristy side of travel... more into meeting good people and getting to know the area properly with the locals.

PHILOSOPHY

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If anyone is traveling (couchsurfing or no) it's so much better if people are in the right mindset and helping them out. Give everyone the best time OS they could have. Personally I think you just get so so much more from staying at someone's house than a hotel / backpackers. Lets you get stuck into that city's / country's culture rather than the much more globalised backpacking culture.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First couchsurfing experience was very unofficial and spontaneous: A few years ago I struck up a conversation with a Swiss guy who was sitting by himself while we were grabbing some food and he ended up crashing at my place for the night. Showed him around and took him out for a bit - a slightly shy guy that we ended up getting to dance with this girl he was keen on. (Which for him was a MASSIVE deal). Hah loved it.

Months later I found out about the website and it's just been the best thing! Top pick would have to be rocking up in Paris not knowing anything - language / friends / accommodation - and getting a call a few hours later from a girl letting me stay. Had such a great time I ended up returning a few months later just to chill out for a few weeks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My times traveling have all been so amazing; Japan - eye opening; NZ - beyond beautiful and beyond good times; Rwanda - got stuck into a rich culture; Spain - walking over 1000kms!; Paris - first real CS experience; NT - spending solid time living in modern indigenous Arnhem Land; Copenhagen - working on Climate Change on an international level; PNG - trekking through raw villages and rain-forests.

There's just too much and of course this is only my travels! There is so much more from back home. The simple things that every life should include. Sometimes the simplest are the most amazing; the quality moments in life that we often only appreciate later. Anyway!.. that sounds slightly too deep (/jerky) for writing about here hah. I will stop.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Spain, United Kingdom
