I've hosted multiple times and have surfed only once.

Couchsurfing is an amazing way to connect with people and make new friends.
Besides being easy on the pocket (important for a new entrepreneur like me), it really helps to have like minded folks make you feel at home when you're traveling.

My first time paragliding - when the wind caught and lifted the canopy, leaving my feet moving in the air, and then the ground fell away, giving me a serious case of frisson.
