Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people and making friends all around the world.

After a few years of participating in the Couchsurfing community, I can pretty much visit anywhere in the world and a friend (or one of their friends) is either living or visiting there.

Of course, knowing a person or two in a city is never enough - there are always more people to meet, more perspectives to discover, and more to learn about the world. This is why I love to travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

For music, I love all types. I try to collect songs from all the countries I visit, and I have songs in more than 100 languages represented on my phone. If I had to pick favorite artists, I enjoy listening to Zack Knight, Mickey Singh, Gafur, JONY, and Faydee. My favorite genre is reggae/reggaeton.

For movies, I don’t watch too many, but when I do, they’re usually Bollywood films. I think everybody else should watch Bollywood too - for example, while everybody I know was all excited about Lady Gaga’s performance in A Star Is Born, I think Aashiqui 2 (Bollywood’s version that came out a few years earlier) was an all around better film. Other recent favorites are Neerja and Andhadhun. My favorite Hollywood film is Up In The Air, a documentary about my life.

I also really enjoy watching classic British sitcoms, like Yes Minister and Fawlty Towers. Sir Humphrey Applebee is my personal hero.

My favorite novel is Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand, because it does an incredible job highlighting how empowerment can come from within. I would strongly recommend it to anybody seeking inspiration on self-empowerment.
