Overview
About Me
I'm a guy in love with photography, music and traveling. I went to student exchanges in Italy and South Korea and an internship in Hungary, then working in Tokyo, now in Vilnius.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In 2009 we were sleeping under a tree during Suwalki Blues festival, but next day a friend of mine offered me to join him surfing a couch. That's how it started...
The major reason I'm on CS is that it brings back my faith in the humankind. Some of the people I've met here changed my perception of the world. Most of the CS people are people I see the world thriving with. There is a ton of stuff to learn from oldschool couchsurfers - one will not be the same again after CS. Also CS develops social trust, so much needed in our lives.
However, one has to keep in mind that CS is not a free hostel network and we should not make it one. Every guest should provide something for the host - will it be stories, teaching something, a laugh or time spent well together.
Interests
Photography, mostly related to ancient cultures, traditions and nature.
Playing guitar. Nature in general. Hitchhiking and sleeping in the weirdest places. Cycling, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, bouldering, mountaineering. Being a guide is quite a fine experience as well.
As for "serious" subjects - politics, international relations, geography, urbanism, space exploration.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A single 2300 km ride hitchhiking. Diving with with bull sharks. Running down the slope of Etna. Being inside a mini-eruption of Ijen volcano. Mountain biking down Chimborazo volcano. Snowboarding down Fuji. Petting a wild sloth. Sleeping in a desert. Cycling around Shikoku. Climbing a 6000 m peak. Caving in Vietnamese jungle. Staying with tribes in Ethiopia, Vanuatu, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Ecuador. Seeing 8000 tons of uranium in one pool.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach photography, technical issues on camera and cycling gear. I can tell a lot about Lithuanian culture, history and politics. I can share tips about traveling in Japan, especially hiking. Learning anything is always great.
