ABOUT ME
Roland Wiryawan is an avid filmmaker graduated from USC School of Cinematic Arts majoring in Film Production. During his years in USC, he was a distinguished scholar, receiving scholarships from USC Asian Pacific Alumni Association and Norman Topping Student Aid Fund. Due to his contributions in the areas of scholarship, leadership and service, he was one of the prestigious USC The Order of Troy recipients among his graduation class of 2012.
Having a deep passion in filmmaking, Roland directed a numbers of shorts, such as Wake Up (2007), An Unexpected Fairy Tale (2010), Pointe (2010), Good Night, Mr. O (2010), Last Call (2010), and Lee (2011). The latter has received praises and remarkable reviews not only from the United States, but also from other parts of the world such as Israel, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.
In 2012, Roland directed and wrote yet another short: Would You, which premiered in Cannes Film Festival, Short Film Corner program in 2013. Also coming up this year, Gynaecide and The Beautiful Day, in which Roland demonstrated his skills as the Director of Photography. His keen eyes for lighting and angles along with his ability to reveal emotions inside scenes make him a well rounded cinematographer and photographer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacking for a month in Japan (July 2010) without cellphone, laptop, or japanese language skill. Survived. Climbed up Mt. Fuji by myself, amazed by the beauty of nature when I saw the sunrise on the top of Fuji-san.
3 months solo backpacking around europe in 2013 was priceless moments that I would never forget
