About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To enter the master degree program in University of São Paulo

ABOUT ME

I'm a brazilian from Belém/PA, one of the biggest cities in the Amazon region (unfortunately, i don't live inside the jungle). I'm blonde, I'm 1,66 M and I study Law. I did almost 3 years of internship in a lawyers office, so that's basically what i'll do for living when I graduate.
I'm a person who enjoys some sense of humour, although I'm really respectful with everybody. And I'm also a nice person to chat, have a few beers, or else.
I'm always aware on what's happening to the world and I generally have a constructed opinion about several issues.
I also like to discuss Philosophy, Law, Literature, movies, music and Tv series.

PHILOSOPHY

I can't say exactly what my philosophy is. But I think the ideal world would be one where people are not condemned for trying to live as they want, and where there are incentives for anyone to become exactly who they want to be.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still at the beggining of my experience with the CS. I joined a group in Lisbon, and I tried to participate in a event in an irish pub, but it was cancelled. For now, I'll try to surf a little, and as I soon as I get my own place, I'll start to host some people too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm beginning to use CS. So, there's not that much to tell for now. I hope that I'll have plenty of stories after this next month, though.

Interests

Well...let's see. I just hope to see many places and meet as many people as I can. The first time I've been to another country just for tourism was in London, a couple of months ago. That just blew my mind, because I met so many people who was travelling just for travelling and meeting people. That's amazing. And I kinda want to be in touch with that, feel just a little bit how is the life of a traveller.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: my favourite writers are Dostoiévski and Franz Kafka, but I already read Jane Austen, Lev Tolstoi, Marcel Proust, George Orwell, Gustave Flaubert. In Brazil, Machado de Assis, Jorge Amado and Guimarães Rosa are the best, in my opinion. At this moment, I'm reading "The Maias", from the portuguese writer Eça de Queiroz.
I like to read philosophy as well. I read Nietzsche when I was 15, Kant when I was 17, and now I want to know more about Jürgen Habermas.
Music: my favourite band is Belle and Sebastian, but I'm also listening to The Velvet Underground, Camera Obscura, Acid House Kings and Mutantes. Oh, and Novos Baianos makes me remember of Brazil.
When I was a teenager, I listened to bands like Iron Maiden, Angra, Dream Theater and Symphony X.
Movies: It's hard to define my preferences, but currently I'm watching Michael Haneke's movies. Last year, I watched almost all classics of Hitchcock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The last year was the best of my life. First, I was selected for the scholarship to study in Portugal. This is the kind of thing that changes your life.
Other two fantastic things I did were in London and Glasgow. When in London, I visited the Westminster Abbey, and in Glasgow, the Cathedral was something I'll never forget. But none of those moments would be possible if I haven't received the scholarship, so I think that is the most important thing that has ever happened to me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, at first, I'd like to learn about different cultures. And I can teach something about the culture from Brazil and from my city.
I'd really like to learn a bit about the history of places i'll visit. The history of european cities is just amazing!
Oh, I can teach how to cook a killer Tuna with noodles!
