Overview
About Me
I am a Spanish teacher with a passion for traveling, meeting people and learning about new cultures. Before accepting my current job at a high school in the US, I spent a year teaching math and science in Honduras. I have taught in Peru, China, and the Philippines. I studied briefly in Spain, and have visited Greece and Italy.
I am married and have 2 sons, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a bird.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My first solo travel experience was 2 years ago in the Philippines. I didn't even know about the hostal experience or that travel could be so affordable. Since then I have met a lot of backpackers and have heard about CouchSurfing. So far I have only done Couchsurfing once, with and incredible family in El Salvador. It was a wonderful experience to spend time with people who actually lived in the city I was visiting and wanted to help me understand their culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a wide variety of music. Since moving Honduras, I listen to a lot of Raggaeton. Mostly though, I listen to pretty laid back music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Base jumping off the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach a bit about Southern Cooking, but I'm a pretty healthy eater, so there won't be any batter-fried food.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy meeting new people and having conversations about different experiences. My best quality as a traveler is that I always clean up after myself and try to leave no evidence that I was ever there.
