关于我

About Us:

We are Romain, Juliette, and Martin, three friends aged 20 to 23, freshly out of university, who decided to swap lecture halls for the roads of Southeast Asia. We're part of a bigger friend group, but over years of shared weekends, holidays, and countless laughs, the three of us grew especially close. One evening, the idea came up, and without overthinking it, we all said yes.

The plan? Six months of travel, starting in Malaysia, then Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. But honestly, the real plan is to have no plan. Our itinerary is a suggestion, not a rule. We move at the pace of encounters, of places that surprise us, of doors that open unexpectedly. We live week by week, light and curious, with small budgets but wide-open eyes.

What are we looking for? Not the typical tourist trail. We want to understand how people actually live, share genuine moments, and experience cultures from the inside. And if we leave with a few new friends along the way, even better.

Romain :

He's basically the one responsible for all of this. Romain grew up with a suitcase under his arm, his parents took him around the world from a young age, including three years living in China that gave him a deep love for Asia. After a preparatory class and a business management degree, it was time to head East again, this time with his friends.
An activity leader at heart, Romain has this rare ability to turn any ordinary moment into something fun. He always has a game up his sleeve, an idea to get people laughing, and an energy that's genuinely contagious. He's also a dedicated athlete, excited to discover new sports and activities along the way, and if you play table tennis, be warned : he competed at a high level and he will not go easy on you.
Raised by a father who is both a painter and a photographer, Romain grew up with a trained eye for light and beauty. His camera will be with him every single day of this trip, because for him, every moment is worth capturing, every scene tells a story. His outlook on life? Stay positive. Always.

Juliette :

Juliette is the sunshine of our group.
Freshly graduated with a Master’s degree in cultural communication, she’s now eager to explore the world — one smile at a time. Positive, curious, and incredibly outgoing, she connects with people within minutes, always with genuine enthusiasm.
For her, this trip is a chance to step out of her comfort zone and embrace adventure in all its forms.
Her superpower? Boosting everyone’s energy. Even when fatigue kicks in, she’s the one who lifts the mood, cheers us on, and gets us moving again with a bright “Come on, let’s go!”
A self-proclaimed foodie, she’s always ready to lend a hand in the kitchen or anywhere else you need it.
One thing’s for sure: she can’t wait to meet you and share a piece of the journey together!

Martin:

Martin, the big soft-hearted teddy bear of our group.
He just finished a degree in environmental protection, but for now, he’s following a different path: the open road. This trip is also a chance for him to improve his English and once the language barrier drops, Martin becomes surprisingly sociable, with a sense of humor that catches everyone off guard.
He has this rare mix of gentleness and spontaneous energy: he’s not the loudest person in the room, but when he shares an idea, it’s often the one that makes us laugh the most or leads us into a memorable moment.
Martin is also someone deeply kind-hearted, the type who makes people feel comfortable without even trying. Friendly, helpful, and always ready to lend a hand whether it’s gardening, fixing something, or just pitching in with everyday tasks.
And yes, animals love him too! Simply because he gives off a soft, comforting vibe that even they seem to pick up on instantly.
In short: a kind, funny, sociable guy, with perfect-timing humor and above all, a curious traveler you’ll be glad to meet.

Let's be honest...

we're three broke students, and a hotel bill for six months was never really on the table 😄
But beyond our questionable finances, CouchSurfing just makes perfect sense for the kind of trip we want to do. We're not here to visit Southeast Asia, we're here to live it. And the difference between the two? Locals.
No guidebook or tourist trail can give you what a real conversation over a home-cooked meal can. Staying with locals means seeing a country from the inside, its real rhythms, its hidden corners, the everyday life that most travellers never get to experience.

That's exactly what we're looking for. 🌏
