About Me
Hi! I'm a young interface designer from the marvelous city of Kyiv (or Kiev). Living here all my life but I really love to travel and move around the world. Our planet is full of amazing and kind people. And I like to meet these people, have some conversation and share a loaf of bread with them.
In the summer of 2016, I've had a huge hitchhiking trip around Baltic Sea. Damn, it was really amazing. 30 cities, 10 countries, 7000 kilometers of adventures and

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think it is the best way to communicate with local people, to understand cultures and traditions. Also, you can make friends here and invite them to your hometown, to share your country's culture. CS is a damn good place to connect people around the world.
To be honest, for me as a citizen of quite a poor country, CS is a good way to save some money in very expensive places. But I've never thought of CS as an accommodation service. It's more as a way to get into a particular culture than just to have a guiding tour.

Music, Movies, and Books
There are not much music styles that I actually dislike.
I've got really big music library with all kind of musical genres. Last added albums: Arcade Fire, Nicolas Jaar, Brock Berrigan, Crooked Colors, Sevdaliza, Bonobo, London Grammar, Kasabian. I have a plenty of modern Ukrainian artists you can listen to.
Here's my Apple music profile: https://itunes.apple.com/profile/hordiienko_r
My favorite movie is The Godfather. But there are a bunch more: 12 Angry Men, Hannibal Lecter films, 12 Monkeys, Se7en. I love Tarantino, Nolan, Fincher movies and plenty of more.
Books? Read plenty too, but really not that often last year. Jack Kerouac, Bulgakov, Hemingway, Rushdie, George R.R. Martin, many non-fiction books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in Cuba for 3 months. But I was a kid and now would gladly travel there as an adult.
Hitchhiked alone around Baltic sea for two months:
- tried 75-meter high slingshot in Saint Petersburg
- visited small hippie party in Oulu and was skating 10 km back to host in 3 AM
- made burgers with moose meat in Umeå (vegans, no offense)
- slept in the central railway station in Stockholm
Had low-cost air flight trip around Europe and found a Place I fell in love with – Porto.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Russian or Ukrainian, mostly curse words :D Teach how to make crepes, Borsch or burgers. I can share a bit of my country's history, share some tips for visiting Ukraine and Kyiv. If you want to I can teach you how to use the different graphics software.
Would like to learn local languages, how to cook local cuisine. Surely would love to hear the history of places I visit.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Everything that in my power! The most valuable thing we can share with each other is our time. I can talk a lot, I can listen even more. Would love to cook for you. And I will surely present you one of the postcards from Kiev :)
