About Me

Always interested to learn about alternative ways to live and see the world (not just physically!). Life stories, hidden sides of life, all that.

I am also curious about science and a million other topics, but in recent years it's been people and nature that I'm super curious about.

In daily life I work in software development, which I basically started doing since I was 9 years old. I love my job but spending too long at the office has its downsides too, so sports (I do martial arts these days, trying to get to that black belt :) and some airsoft) nature and my nephews keep me sane.

I was born in USSR and when I was 9 years old we moved to Israel. This kind of puts me between the cultures - I suppose I have my own view of things, and maybe that's why I also connect to non-standard people and people who don't follow the herd. I wouldn't know which herd to follow anyway :)

Oh, and I'm also color blind. Well, partially. Like I said, I have my own way to see the world :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been hosting back when I had a place in Tel Aviv, but now I live outside of the city so I'm mostly here for traveling. I do some travel for work these days and stay at hotels, but would love to meet people - both locals and other tourists. Some of my fondest memories are from my travel times :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I loved Zorba the Greek (the book), Harry Potter, the Never Ending Story, Atlas Shrugged and some other books in Hebrew you probably have not heard about :)

These days I'm trying to catch up on Sopranos, the characters there are really interesting :)
