About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To expand my horizons, to share goodness, to learn with people and try to become a better person.

ABOUT ME

Hi!

I'm Guilherme and I've been living in Germany since 2017
I lived for some time in the US as well and had a great experience travelling around these places. I only wish I knew about CS at that time. :-)

You probably have heard this before, but I love travelling and I think this is one of the best ways you can invest your money as the experience you get from it is something that can be enlightening and no one will be able to take it from you.

Usually people who are not from Brazil just call me Gui, which makes it easier for them and it is totally fine by me.

PHILOSOPHY

As Carl Sagan once said: "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known."

I believe that change is the essence of life and that we should be willing to give up what we are for what we can become.
The mere concept of being alive and able to connect with the Cosmos is something that never ceases to amaze me. I'd say that my wheels are in constant motion when it comes to understanding the universe and trying to figure out all that is wonderful that surrounds us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I try to be as helpful as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been able to host a few people and it's been an enlightening experience so far.

Interests

I'm interested in a few different things.
As it is quite common, I enjoy music, cinema and sports.

I also like very very much all things related to astronomy and cosmology. This is something that has always fascinated me.

In the past few years, I learned how to cook and this has become some kind of therapy to me, as I like to browse for new recipes online and watch some videos for the preparation of new dishes.

I also enjoy learning about sociology, philosophy, technology and a few other things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Well, this could get really long because I enjoy many different genres. My favorite kind of music is Rock and I have a tendency to enjoy epic movies. I`m not really a fan of fictional books.

My favorite song is Stranger In Your Soul by Transatlantic.
My favorite movie: The Godfather
Latest book I read: The Magic of Reality by Richard Dawkins

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There are quite a few...the most recent that comes to mind was rather simple but it felt really good, special and peaceful: just riding a scooter through the streets of Ubud with no direction and seeing great and unexpected stuff along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm all about sharing experiences and hearing stories. I try to learn as much as I can from others whenever it's possible. If there's anyone interested in learning some Portuguese, please do let me know.
