Overview
About Me
My name is Romanos and I come from a town called Volos situated on the eastern coast of central Greece but I am currently based in London, England.
I studied international Hospitality management but I specialise on wine and the art of Sommelier. But I recently took the CELTA course for teaching English and I am looking forward to start on this career.
I like learning new languages, meeting new people, discover new places, but also new books and authors or new music artists. I take a lot of interest in art as well. I tend to like more French impressionists such as Monet, Cezanne, Millet but also other famous artists like Modigliani, Van Gogh, August Rodin, and Camille Claudel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing cause I want to meet people during my travels and share my experience and learn from them their culture and history of their city/country but also to share my knowledge and experience with those who are visiting the city I live in.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all sorts of music besides rap, heavy metal and r&b, nothing against them I just don’t seem to understand them. I mostly enjoy indie, chill out, acoustic, and classic rock but also will enjoy seeing an opera or a classic orchestra. Generally I listen a lot to Beirut, Bonobo, Alt-J, Mogwai etc.
I like movies a lot. I try to go to cinema quite often especially when there is something interesting on. I am not so much a blockbuster movie fan. A few of my favourite movies are: Perfect Sense, Les Intouchables, A touch of Spice, Imitation Game, 3 Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri, The shape of water, Pan’s Labyrinth etc.
I tend to read a lot. I like to relate literature with culture. I have read books from authors of various countries such as Russia, Japan, France, Chile, USA, Spain, Italy, England Etc. I prefer fiction or history related. Poetry is nice but occasionally hard to grasp. Some of my favourite authors are:Kurt Vonnegut, Roberto Bolaño, Albert Camus, Jean-Michel Guenassia, Alki Zei, Haruki Murakaki, Agatha Christie,Jonathan Coe, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle etc.
Teach, Learn, Share
If I have to literally teach something that would be English and Wine tasting techniques, wine history and geography.
Generally though I like to share my knowledge. Whether it is about books, travelling, cultures, history even everyday activities.
I like to learn whatever I can. History and cultures of the places I am visiting, a new food recipe, discover a new wine, or even try a new sport.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don’t know what to say other than, a good time together, nice long discussions about everything that comes to mind, long walks around the city, a dinner in the city or cooking together, my experience and knowledge on particular fields of interest.
