ABOUT ME

I'm totally addicted to subcultural music scenes and spend loads of time travelling to shows and festivals throughout Europe (and waste way to much money on records...).

Besides music, I'm highly interested in environmental sciences. I'm currently finishing my Master's degree in Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution at the University of Göttingen with a focus on tropical plant ecology. I try to get around as much as possible during my studies: In the last years, I have spent half a year of student exchange at the UCM in Madrid, went to Ecuador for another six months to do the research for my Bachelor's thesis, accompanied an expedition to the Khangai mountains in Mongolia, and spent another 4 1/2 months in Ecuador and Peru with the research for my Master's thesis and travelling.

Since I really love cooking, sometimes people who surf my couch get into the lucky situation of getting a spontaneous invitation to a delicious vegan dinner.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

After hosting a couple of people, surfing around a bit and getting to know loads of people I have to say my overall experience is quite positive. Though I have to admit I haven't used it for quite a while.

Música, películas y libros

Music:

Anything that is weird, obscure, dark, ugly, and/or experimental, ranging from extreme metal (Death/Thrash/Doom/Black), punk, hardcore to post-punk, wave, and early gothic stuff.

Music plays an important role in my life, and I can spend a lot of time talking about it. Be prepared!

Movies:

In fact I don't watch movies quite often, mostly due to the fact that you can't listen to music at the same time. I definitely prefer intellectually challenging, artistically meaningful movies over dull mainstream hollywood stuff, although at times I appreciate trashy flicks.

Books:

Lem, Strugatzki, Orwell, Huxley, scientific literature

Algo increíble que he hecho

Once had to get retrieve my backpack full of scientific gear from a spectacled bear who was attracted by the smell of the food supplies.
