About Me

Hello Couchsurfing community!
I'm travelling Europe until November and am keen to experience as much about each city that I visit as possible. My favourite thing in the world is meeting new people. You never know what you can learn, or what you could bring to each other's lives!
I studied filmmaking and gender studies at university, and have a passion for documentary and biographical media. My graduating film was a moving portrait of a friend of mine who fled the Bosnian war in the 1990s to come to Australia with her family. It is my dream (at least one of my dreams! I have many!) to be able to travel the world and share people's stories, either in documentary form, writing or podcasting. I am yet to try my hand at narrative film, but there is still plenty of time (any fellow couchsurfers or hosts with film ideas, hit me up, let's chat!).
I love music so please feel free to pass on any live music recommendations for your city! I am also an avid dancer, and was particularly inspired by the Netflix docuseries We Speak Dance which saw the host travel around to different cities and learn about dancing in each culture, as that is something I would love to incorporate into my trip. If you like to dance, we will get along!
I'm very open minded and open to experiences of all kinds, and looking forward to becoming a member of the Couchsurfing community :))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for a budget-friendly way to travel, but more importantly I am looking for ways to experience cities like a local, rather than a tourist. I am much more interested in what I can learn from and share with a Couchsurfing host or community, than being in a party hostel. Don't get me wrong, staying in a hostel can be an absolutely beautiful experience, and you can share some amazing times with amazing people, but this is where the budget-friendly aspect comes in.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourites change all the time! The only definite answers I have right now are that my favourite film is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, as well as anything by David Lynch. My favourite music is anything I can dance to, especially disco! But I also love rock and the blues. And my favourite book list is forever expanding.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Co-produced a film festival here in Melbourne.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to teach, learn and share as much as I possibly can! I could probably teach some things in the realm of film, social justice or environmental sustainability as these are my passions. I want to learn absolutely everything there is to learn, particularly anything related to dancing! And I want to share beautiful experiences, regardless of what they are.

What I Can Share with Hosts

An open mind, a warm heart and passionate discussions about film, music, the environment and social justice! I wish I was better at cooking, but I could try and bring some flavour of Australia to the kitchen!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States
