About Me

ABOUT ME

I am the practical type, if it's broken, fix it!
In 2010/2011 I took a leapyear to travel, those travels have had a big impact on the way I approach things.
I studied mechanical engineering and materials science. My friends may define me as a hippie in disguise. I just want to engineer, bounce around and listen to what everyone's got to say. I just bought a house w a garden an a cherry tree. Currently building a tiny house to live in so I can renovate the house. I am taking out all inside walls, redoing plumbing and electrical installation. Beside a full time job, I don’t have the time to be extremely social. But I try to give myself time off for the occasional beer or seeing friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it is very nice of someone to share a part of their life with a complete stranger. And I have met great friends through hosting and surfing. Furthermore, I can make a mean chilli and would like to use this to conquer the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The first time I went overseas by myself I spent my first night couchsurfing, it was like I had crashed into the friends I never knew I had. I've been cavesurfing, dumpsterdiving, worked at a nonprofit bikerepairs shop, played golf. The best thing was always cooking together with my host!! Couchsurf and use your board for chopping.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Interning at CERN, winning triathlon in the category “shit bike”, sappa village(vietnam), rice fields.... the road up there is dangerous and cold, but when you get there you wouldn't care about your bus crashing into the valley, because you've seen all that... In slovakia the vysoké tatry mountains had me blacking out.

Teach, Learn, Share

My mom is a macrobiotic and instead of watching TV we would watch my mother cook, she taught us well since she doesn't have to cook when we come over. I am the youngest of seven so it goes without saying that I know how much sharing makes a difference. All of us wen't in different directions, you learn that you can do anything you want. My ego is ok.
