Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
If I host people I try to give as much freedom and help/assistance at the same time as possible. It always depends on how busy I am and how interested the person is in learning about my country. But in general, I am more than happy if I can pass on some good city vibes :)
If I am being hosted I dont forget that CS is based on mutual exchange. It is not to draw profit or "country-scores" from it. It is about the individuals you meet and so always depending on the situation I return my the favours... painting, babysitting, grocery shopping, long talks and walks and cooking sessions ;)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted some people while in Leipzig (often Germans, but also South Africans and Americans) but also always had wonderful experiences being hosted e.g. in South Africa and Swaziland, Vietnam, Cambodia, Scotland or Scandinavia... (Before I was only a member at "hospitality club" so my profile here is quite blank still, but maybe I still have a chance out there in the CS community :] )
Interests
I live for the experience. My friends and social networks are most important to me. Am into alternative lifestyles and community building. Like to wrap my head around green economy, philosophy and permaculture. Affiliate myself with vegan and ethically conscious lifestyles.
Active. Like being outdoors! Love hiking, canoeing, camping, campfires, skiing, sky watching, stars gazing, yoga. Canada has become my "little" jewel, but I also spend spent some time in the States and Southern Africa, did some country tripping in Europe and fell in love with Leipzig back home in Germany - a city where I could actually imagine to stay :]
Am into photography and love arthouse movies and documentaries. Like boardgames and cooking with friends (hmm is that geeky?!). Love to laugh and being sourrounded by positive people ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
I CANNOT REMEMBER SINGERS'/ACTORS'/SONGWRITERS' NAMES. NOPE, NOT AT ALL...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Helped to organize the Resilience Festival in Edmonton.
One Amazing Thing I will do:
Travel Canada east to west and back in my own van.
Teach, Learn, Share
Wander Often Wonder Always.
I try not to worry too much. Although I wouldn't call myself spiritual, I like to believe that the universe will provide for us. Many things happen for a reason.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Cook a yummie veggie meal, share my Kombucha knowledge, give travel tips on countries I have been to, teach chess and contribute to more laughter in the house :)
