Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to expand my knowledge in as many areas as possible, usually too many to keep up with. I want to learn about cultures to perceive the most subtle injustices against cultural or ethnic groups as well as to enjoy different points of view.
ABOUT ME
I think the other categories will give a good impression of what I am like and what I'm about. For my personality characteristics, I think I am generally like my description of "People I Enjoy".
PHILOSOPHY
I don't have a laundry list of personal mottos, but one very general rule that can describe my approach to life is that everyone should have the freedom to do as they please up to the point that those choices effect someone else. The conflict comes with what each person judges to be affecting someone else.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I plan on hosting people at my apartment and doing more couchsurfing when I travel to share experiences and knowledge of where I live, learn about where other people come from, and to have a more authentic experience learning about the local culture when I travel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have done a little bit of everything with positive results. I have only been able to host people a few times that fit in my schedule, but I have surfed with someone in Norway, Dubai, Hawaii, Tucson, Arizona, Los Angeles, and Sao Paulo, Brazil. I've also met a few good friends from couchsurfing and have gone to some local events.
Interests
I have somewhat varied interests. In no particular order, some of them include: culture, people, language, science in general, quantum physics, energy production and energy efficiency, nuclear fusion, electric cars, environmentalism, feminism, anti-racism, politics, food, music, movies, art, comedy, outdoors/hiking/campling, bicycling.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'll resort to the old saying "I don't know art, but I know what I like" to preface my tastes. I tend to like witty comedies, independent or thoughtful movies, old classics, campy action movies, and other various things. My taste in music is fairly eclectic as well and is hard to pinpoint, but I like everything from new indie music to crooners from the 1940's with some classic rock, punk, singer-songwriter, pop, dance, doo-wop, classical, and other genres in between. I tend to like non-fiction books about academic topics except for some old classic novels with room for new classics as well.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I probably haven't done or seen things as amazing as many other people, or at least I can't objectively see what amazing things I've experienced as someone else might be able to by looking at my life, so I don't have anything to share here right now.
