About Me
Living the uncertain life.
I can't seem to stay anywhere for more than a couple months but I'm on the lookout for a new semi-permanent home...
I just arrived in Athens and will be here for the next month (February 2018) , after that hopefully somewhere in Greece with mountains or sea...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have couchsurfed in Amsterdam, Stockholm, Zagreb and various French cities. I've also met up with other couchsurfers in Cambodia, Bosnia, Serbia and Macedonia. Every experience has been good, many great and I recommend couchsurfing to people all the time.
I hope to start hosting very soon!
Interests
Camping, swimming in chilly lakes and seas, live music/theatre/music-theatre, bicycling, intersectional feminism, pubs, aspiring to do creative things, looking at colourful art, muddy hikes, learning languages, small festivals, cooking and eating all sorts, climbing volcanoes, uber competitive scrabble and pictionary, dancing like a fool, sleeping on public transport, not staying in the UK.

Music, Movies, and Books
Big fan of all three. I have a sweet spot for indie pop, folk, songs that tell stories and dry lyrics. Current/always favourites: Eleanor Friedberger, Joni, Aretha, Allo Darlin, Bill Callahan, James Yorkston, Tune yards, Billy Holiday, Pavement, Cocteau Twins, the XX.
I tend to enjoy slow/realist films where not much happens but the characters are interesting and well-developed. Also films that are visually striking or experimental. I don't like films with boring 2 dimensional female characters/no wimmin. I like narrative/biographical documentaries a lot and I reccently discovered agnes varda so am working my way through her films.
Telly wise I get excited about Mad Men, Transparent, Broad City, Top of the Lake, Nighty Night, the Thick of It, Father Ted...
I love libraries. The worst part of travelling is not being able to take lots of books. Sold my soul to amazon and got a kindle but still seem to end up with about five books to carry at all times... Keeps my shoulders strong.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like cooking for and with people. ( NB. I do not approve of cooking people)
I can teach you scottish ceilidh dancing but we must drink lots of whisky first.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love meeting new people and exploring a city with a local, even if it is just getting some recommendations and having dinner/drinks together. I am easy going and adaptable and will sleep anywhere!
