After 10 years studying sociology in different countries, I interrupted my PhD to film life music. I've spent the past 3 years filming concerts, live sessions, dance shows and other cultural events as a freelancer, while working in cinema logistics.
I'm now trying to make music videography my one and only job, as I move to Toronto looking to discover the music scene.
I have several documentaries projects ongoing, if we start talking about their subjects I might ask if you would be cool with me filming the conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started hosting people when I was living in Quebec City. We had a triplex shared with 6 roommates in the historical centre, with lot of commons and a great atmosphere. CouchSurfing was a great way to meet people and get this travel experiences-sharing vibe at home while I worked all summer.
It ended up looking like a free hostel and I loved it. Feels good to get out of this monetized world, and just share what you have.

Now I’m looking forward to discovering the surfer side, as I plan on moving to Toronto without knowing anyone there. Or much about the city itself.
I don’t want to see each and every touristic attractions, I’d much rather spend time with people who could introduce me to their experience Toronto.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crossing all Europe and Russia by train.
That would be the most widely recognized as amazing, but truth is filming a New Orleans Jazz fanfare in Montreal alleyways all along summer 2020 was even more of a life changing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don’t usually try to teach things. I like how sharing experience and deeply discussing topics bring everyone in the conversation to learn things, without need for actual teaching.
If you’re interested in photography, videography or getting better at image capture in general, I’ll be happy to explain settings and show you a few tricks! For my background in social sciences, I’m more on sharing life experiences and ideas than teaching theory.

Apart from images, I love sharing beers and conversations. I’m definitely not the best cook but I’ll always try to find a couple of nice microbrews to start an evening, and a less fancy pack for later if the occasion calls.
I’ve spent a long time in school and had a lot of different jobs, no matter what you like to talk about I’ll probably find an original perspective to share on the topic.
