Overview
About Me
I am a friendly, respecting, easy-going Irish guy who has been living in the countryside in Iceland for the past 18 months. I enjoy to cook, bake, make tasty tea and coffee and to enjoy as many new experiences as life presents them to me. I am always happy to chat and to learn about the cultures of different places around the world, and have been fortunate to immerse myself in life in some different countries in the past few years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After hearing so much about this wonderful community, I wanted to get involved and hopefully meet some future friends and contacts here. This concept of helping a fellow traveller along their journey with something so simple as a couch to lay their head is a really beautiful notion. Any community which is encouraging co-operation and togetherness among and between people travelling the world is an honour to be apart of and to hopefully contribute to
Interests
Very varied set of interests from outdoor activities like hiking, camping, kayaking, bouldering, golf, football, slack-lining, gardening and attempting to grow food (always a fun challenge in Iceland), and generally just trying to maintain some level of activity. I'm also known to be domestically gifted and enjoy to cook for friends and family and trying new recipes and baking bread. I also love to lose myself to a book in the dark of the winter time.

Music, Movies, and Books
And music of course. I have quite a broad spectrum of genres which I enjoy, from psychedelic rock to folk to dad rock to ambient electro to classical to hip-hop, each new day can bring a whole new musical vibe
I am currently reading Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman and Selected Journals of HD Thoreau. I have enjoyed some conservationist writing this past year, and I am very much enjoying reading of the adventures of the old Norse gods. I am big Game of Thrones fan also, having read each of the current books and the series as well as very much enjoying the tv show too. Pretty much most tv shows from HBO I have been a fan of, with special mention for The Wire and Deadwood too :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rented an RV with some friends and travelled around British Columbia to some great resorts to snowboard. Definitely one of my favourite trips. Also, detaching myself from city life to come and live in the Icelandic countryside and learning to live closer to nature and more like our ancestors has been a pretty amazing experience for me in the past 18 months
Teach, Learn, Share
I am always happy to help anybody attempting to learn English language. I bake good bread which is also a skill I like to share. General conversations about life and existence aiming to learn more from the experience of others, while hopefully also teaching others through my own experiences
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook! Also always happy to share a couple of beers or a bottle of wine and a good conversation about living in this crazy world.
