About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding a cool hat that doesn't make me look stupid. Harder than you think.

ABOUT ME

I like to act fast and not overthink things or else nothing gets done. That's how I've had the best times and greatest memories. That's how most of my trips started.
I'm into music a lot (60's to 80's rock, reggae, jazz mostly, but open to other genres). I play the saxophone myself and want to learn other instruments. I enjoy festivals and concerts. When I'm not travelling I occupy my time with some programming work and reading science papers that I don't understand. But at the end of the day, I like to think I've learned something.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a peace & love kind of person. Been called a hippie more than once.
World is big, life is short, gotta use that time to discover as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hosted before and hosted myself. Always been cool. I share an apartment with my girlfriend and we both have been hosted quite a few times so we feel like it's our turn to give back to the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well as said, been hosted, hosted as well. It was nice. Gave me the chance to meet different people, cool, weird, young, not-so-young, but altogether always nice and interesting.

Interests

Mostly music and travelling, since I've been doing both pretty much all my life.
Also, when I do work, I'm a software engineer and science kind of weirdly turns me on.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, David Sanborn, Dire Straits, ACDC, Fat Freddy's Drop, Bob Marley, The Who, Janis Joplin, and I could go on for pages...

Movies: I have a very bad movies culture. But I'm always happy to watch a new one. Pretty much any genre, except for gory stuff. Not a huge fan of those.

Books: H2G2 is one of my favorite. Also some philosophy books, it's always good to see what people who think for a living have to say. And some sci-fi / fantasy books and thrillers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Left for a 2 months trip in northern Europe with no plan and not much money. Not long after I came back, I sold my furniture and left France to go live in South Korea for a year. Is that amazing ?

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the basics of saxophone, but I guess if you own one you probably already know them. I can teach you how to tie your shoe laces real good, or what words like "type safety" or "lambda calculus" mean, which is pretty cool I think.
I want to learn how to play guitar and piano, and more about those words I told you about. I want to learn things about the places I go to that I won't find in a guide book. And probably a bunch of stuff that I don't even know exist.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm starting to know Nantes a little bit. I'm not sure I'd be a good traditional guide, but I can show you around and I'm pretty confident we can have some fun.
Also, I've travelled quite a lot, with friends, with family or on my own and I'm guessing if you're staying at my place you like travelling too so we can talk about that.
