About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Taking my share in making the world a better place, both as a mother, teacher and individual :)

ABOUT ME

Though I love my job as a teacher in theater, I enjoy time of even more. As soon as I got some money to do so, I travelled. To meet other artists, to visit far away friends, to get to know different countries and other cultures. The world is incredibly big and I can learn something from everyone in it! Now that we have kids we travel less far, but still enjoy getting to know new people and places!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's way better, if you ask me, to discover a place through the eyes of a local. I slept in the houses of locals in Indonesia, Poland, Scotland, Ireland, Engeland, Spain and Denmark and enjoyed every minute of it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept on a lot of couches, beds, matresses and even towels on the floor, but never used this website to do so! We like having people around though, so we decided to subscribe.

Interests

How I spend my time...wow...I really enjoy spending time in our nice house with my husband Michiel and our two sons Benjamo and Zaro . The house is a comfy place that we decorated in our colourful style. I like visiting my family and friends throughout the country, and try to see as many nice theater plays and exhibitions as possible (having two kids also absorbs a lotof my time hihi). We love visiting second hand shops and markets, looking for things we don't need but love to buy for little money.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Our wedding, in july 2012...it was incredible! We made a big event out of it, asking our friends for their help and creativity instead of their enveloppes. This resulted in a big big party with all of our beautiful loves ones. They decorated, bakes pies, made snacks, played their instruments, made live paintings...it was just awesome! We spend very little money and made 170 people, including ourselves, very happy :D

Giving birth to two beautiful boys was also quite amazing ;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Aruba, Bahamas, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States
