Hello! 你好! Néih Hóu! こんにちは! I'm Ronnie and I'm a 27 years old Entrepreneur! I have decided to take up the challenge of travelling while trying to get most of my work done online. I come from Singapore, where we are bilingual and hence I'm fluent in both Chinese & English! I also know Cantonese (because my Mum's from Malaysia). I'm currently looking to improve my Japanese as my fourth language.

As an INFJ, It took me a while to enjoy socializing even though deep inside I love human connection. It wasn't until later when I was bitten by the travel bug and I started to fall in love with travelling. Exploring new places, getting lost, trying out food, culture, and eventually, I also fall in love with hiking and making new friends! Throughout my travel, I also learn to open up myself more, be more extroverted during the trip and interact more. Doing so not only allows me to learn more about myself and others but also gives me a more fulfilling travelling experience.

Apart from travelling, I enjoy writing, acrylic painting and I took up a bit of leather crafting. I love to skygaze/stargaze and I have a weird liking for solitary walks and kite flying too! I enjoy running and my dream is to eventually complete a marathon in 2019. While I travel, I mostly also enjoy travel photography, especially candid moments from random people (https://behance.net/ronnietan). I love hiking too, the tough journey where we slowly ascend up into the skies. The moment of euphoria is amazing and the view took my breath away.

As an Entrepreneur, I dabble a little in e-Commerce, and eventually lead me to manufacture my own products, I designed and made some clothing, among other little trinkets. I'll love to slowly grow and understand more about myself and my passion as I go from here. I love exploring more places and I'll really like to stay for a longer period of time, so I can really get to enjoy, travel alone meet new people and bask in the essence of the country, the wonderful places wearing their personalities on their sleeves, the mountains who whisper sweet nothings, the waterfall which drums the river in triumph, the stars which dance around the night skies, and the constellations which foretold your future adventures that are to come.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Throughout my travel, I also learn to open up myself more, be more extroverted during the trip and interact more with people. I would really like to push myself to meet new people, exchanging life stories, lessons, and feeling connected to another person who speaks another language and in another land is so much different and as they say, it's the people that make the place :D

It's all of these that eventually makes me want to explore the vast distant lands out there and also internet bought me here :D

And I'll love to definitely have a more interesting and local experience while I travel because I'll like to go back with more exciting stories to tell.

📚 BOOKS
I enjoy reading, usually, fictions could keep me at the edge of my seat even though I'll try to force myself to reach through self-improvement books or books that could feed my brain.

Examples are Malcolm Gladwell's series,
I love John Green's books! (Paper Towns, Looking for Alaska)
And Harry Potter's amazing universe of course :D
Some notable reads include, Yakuza Moon, 20 Fragments of Ravenous Youth, Tomorrow Will be Better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting Lost in the City I'd never Been.
I explored Hong Kong by myself and decided to ditch technology.
I wandered around and getting lost in the streets only to find myself stumbling upon hidden gems and places off the beaten path.

For the whole of the trip I actually only used a physical map brochure where I took from a random hotel lobby.
