Hey! Thanks for visiting my page, apparently something triggered you to check out who I am. So let me introduce myself a little:

I'm Ronnie, born on the 5th of August in 1984 (you do the counting?) in Hoorn (a city 40km up north of Amsterdam) where I grew up and work in hospitality till I was 27 years old. After that I (finally?) started to study which gave me the opportunity to start as a high school teacher in geography.

I lived short moments of my life in England, Italy, Curaçao and Terschelling (one of the Dutch Islands up north) but always came back to my beloved Amsterdam metropol. From 2018 to 2022 I lived in Zaandam (you might know the Zaanse Schans) and since last year I live with my girlfriend in Oud-West, close to the Jordaan area of Amsterdam. Soon we’ll move to a lovely canal-house close to Waterlooplein! 🥰

Nowadays I work as a freelance teacher for different schools and projects in Amsterdam and I’m an author for educational geography books. Once in a while I organise bike tours in and around Amsterdam for my little bike tour organisation called Geografiets (check it out on instagram!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Nowadays to meet up, hang out and organize bike tours.

In the past I hosted a lot of people in my former house and I went couchsurfing some nights during citytrips in Europe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycled 6437km - in 60 days of cycling and 40 nights of camp - within the Dutch borders during 2 summers (2020 and 2022) and finished the challenge to cycle through every municipality of my country!
