About Me

I DON’T LIVE IN GRANADA ANYMORE. HAVEN’T FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS. I JUST CAN’T BE BOTHERED TO CHANGE LOCATION, AGAIN. But to sum things up, I have been living in Portugal from 2015 until September 2019. I spent lockdown 2020 in Sevilla. I have been back in Portugal since July 2020. Spent summer and autumn 2024 in Sevilla. Back in Lagos, the one in Portugal.

CURRENT MISSION find my happy place

ABOUT ME (this is what my old profile looked like. it took me a shitload of time and effort and these cunts came and eliminated the HTML tags: http://tinyurl.com/ronsoldprofile) I was born at a very young age, I think once upon a time in my life I was a chubby cute baby. Years went by and I met a Spanish hitchhiker that helped me discover that I had a thumb and how to use it... been hitchhiking ever since.

I HATE TRAVELING! No, not really. I only wanted to say that because everybody states that they love traveling on their profiles. of course I love traveling, why else would I be here?

I have a love/hate relationship with almost any kind of junk/street food.

I love alcohol and I love to go out to the pub very often, fuck me right?

According to my mum, I'm a good boy. I'm shy and quiet and it's very difficult for me to start a conversation. But once you get me started I can talk for hours!

I'm a kid trapped in the body of a... kid . I have no idea what I'm doing with my life and I don't take it so seriously.

One day I decided to start traveling, that day was back in november of 2009. I have traveled in Central America from North to South and from South to North a few times. I spent 6 months in the States. I have been in Europe basically since 2010 except the most part of 2012 when I traveled Latin America having finally hitchhiked two boats between Panama and Colombia (and back). I spent a year in Estonia taking a well deserve break from traveling and waiting for the right time to start traveling again, which was in december 2013. I didn't want a cold winter so I decided to go to the sunny South of Spain and for the first time in my travels (not even when I go back home) I unpacked my stuff and store my backback. I stayed in Granada for 9 months. I left middle of September to go back to the Baltics, Vilnius, Lithuania to be exact. Went back in "Graná" for few months but went to live in the South of Portugal. Lagos to be exact. After a few months back home, I lived in Ericeira, Portugal. San Sebastián, Basque Country. Sagres, Portugal for two years. Ericeira again. Sevilla. Lagos, Porto, and Raposeira, Portugal. Ericeira again. At the moment in Sevilla, Spain. Will go back to Lagos later 2024.

I've worked in hostels in Czech Republic, Poland, Estonia, Germany, Panama, Spain, Lithuania and Portugal. I also volunteered in hostels in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Colombia and Spain.

And according to my references, I......
love hitchhiking. For me it's not just getting from point A to B for free, it's a lifestyle. Every time I hitchhike I'm more convinced that the world is not a complete waste. There's still kind people willing to take you and share with you expecting nothing in return. And also, it's amazing how much useful/useless information you can learn.

I don't have very good GPS skills, therefore I can wander around, will get lost and explore.I'm an explorer that is always smiling but can bring something new to your life.

Since I liked to watch the Discovery Channel, NatGeo and The History Channel, I do quite good in pub quizes.

I'm so generous I can share my toenail clippers with you.

I'm very patient, meaning I won't get angry if you ask me a 31,764,913 times how to say "traveling" in spanish. Just in case, traveling = viajando.

I was fast in gaining my sea legs which means that I can be helpful when you give me a ride in your sailboat!

I can go out party adequately and could be bottled and sold in pharmacies as a boredom remedy.

PHILOSOPHY
The best plan is to have no plan at all
I guess there's only one way to find out...
Qué hora es?
Give love regardless of what you receive
Be courteous to all, sociable to many, close to few, friend to one and enemy to none.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I chop CSers into little pieces and since I'm in Estonia, I mix them with hapukoor (sour cream) and eat them!

update: I'm in Spain so... I eat my CSers as tapas while drinking wine!

anther update: I'm in Portugal but I do the same with CSers with green wine.

Interests

In no particular order: traveling. Hitchhiking. Meeting, sharing and learning from people from all over the world. Music. Cold beer. Good music. Good coffee. Good conversations.
