CURRENT MISSION
When was the last time you did something for the first time?!
ABOUT ME
Everything about me? That'll take too much updating so I'll stick to what is good to know about me. Let's start with first impressions. Despite the slight grumpy outlook and the love of sarcasm, I do enjoy life and I do also have a sense of humour (of the British kind, hence the u in humour my dear American friends).
I prefer contributing over consuming, constructing over shopping, text over image, naive over controlling and shy over loud.
I like DIY in my old house, antique furniture, make my own furniture, cook, read and cycle! If you'd like to come to Leeuwarden or visit Groningen (where I used to live) you're more than welcome. I'd love to show you the city (and the countryside as well).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Haven't been able to contribute so much since I recently joined the community and Leeuwarden doesn't get that many visitors. I do however have a comfortable couch available and two matrasses as well. I have a cat and she hardly ever kills any humans.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have been to some meetings. Met some guests of friends. But the competition to host in Leeuwarden is fierce.

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to be a volunteer at the Independend Film Theatre in Leeuwarden and it goes without saying that I like those kinds of movies. Francois Ozon, David Lynch, DOGMA-directors, Tim Burton, Stanley Kubrick are some names of interesting directors.
I read Dutch literature mostly but every now and again I read some English books too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The beach in Denia thanks to a Spanish student I met in Groningen. From bed to beach in three steps.
Breakfast in Beiseforth where I shared life stories with the lovely Indonesian owner of the camping site.
I spent some time in the US couchsurfing in Philadelphia and NY. And I have a regular go-to place in Toronto thanks to Dina!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a good at DIY so I can show you that it's easier than it seems. Just do it..
