About Me

I am spontanious, kind, lively young lady from the cold country of Finland 🇫🇮

Just to be clear, I am here purely to meet new people, experience the culture outside of a tourist bubble, and make new friends around the world - if you are expecting something else do not bother to message.

I think I've always had the travel bug in me - since I was little all I've wanted has been to travel the world and explore as much as I can. 🌍🌎🌏

At the moment I am trying to live my dream life as best as I can - by visiting and living in new countries before starting my university studies in Finland.

My oncoming journey is the one I've dreamed of for a long time - South East Asia. I am starting my travels in Indonesia and I will be mostly explore the island of Java. I have heard that the locals are lovely and I really want to experience the local culture and learn more about life in Java.

I am a vegetarian but I do not mind if people around me eat meat - I think everyone should respect one another and their choices they make. 🌱🌻

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The main reason why I am in couchsurfing is that I want to learn something new and see the side how the locals live

The way I see it, choosing a packet holiday with all inclusive activities might be easy and relaxing, but often it doesn't give so much knowledge back to you. I've worked in all inclusive resorts 1,5 years as an group fitness instructor so I have seen a lot from a packet tourism industry - and come to an inclusion that what I enjoyed the most while living abroad was outside of work and away from the group of tourists - best part really was to see the places where locals lived differently from where I am from.

Talking to locals and learning from them and the surroundings is the greatest gift traveling can give you. I want to experience the real culture and see real people of the place.

Music, Movies, and Books

Wide scale - many goes actually!

MUSIC
The chainsmokers, Onerepublic, Imagine Dragons, Dermot Kennedy what comes to my mind first. I also enjoy listening classical music, and instrumental covers.
Various Finnish artists, as Haloo Helsinki, PMMP, Irina.

I am a very musical person and I love to sing myself as well so if you know any karaoke places I am definitely ready for it!

Books
Various self improvement books and learning about psychology are what I usually choose to read. Many of my favourite books are in Finnish.

I also love to read columns and news articles from Finnish media, and from The guardian, CNN, Reuters etc.

TV
I love watching documentaries about the world, but I also enjoy various Netflix shows, as Stranger things, Designated Survivor, and Black Mirror have been my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I feel like everything I've seen and done feels normal to me now as I've experienced it, but to others it might be different.

I’ve been Santa’s little helper 🧝‍♀️🎅🎄

The greatest thing I've seen would probably be Iguazu Falls in Brazil/Argentina 🇧🇷🇦🇷

I participated to jiu-jitsu classes in a favela locaded in Rio for three weeks with no knowledge of Portuguese or martial arts whatsoever 💭

I was an exchange student in USA for 10 months when I was 16, which was very brave now when I think about it as I was quite young 🇺🇲

Teach, Learn, Share

For two years I worked abroad as a group fitness instructor in hotels for groups of international people. I met someone new every day and it was a really great time of my life. I love yoga and some day I want to do the teacher training myself, but maybe not just yet.

I love learning about cultures, especially when I can talk to people who know about it and actually live in the culture. What is the point of traveling if you do not chat and make friends with locals?
I am interested in psychology, science and sociology, and I have just started my studies in social psychology. I also love writing things to my diary while I travel as you forget easily what you feel if you do not.

My weirdest travel dream is probably that I want to be a Kung fu school student in China some day and learn about the mentalism of the Kung fu students, even though I've never even done the sport. Why? I just got it to my head and it sounds cool haha. Huh, maybe some day.

Every single one of us has their own story and I do think we can all learn from each others! Different languages, families, habits, they do not matter in the end as we are all equal human beings in the end of the day.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge about my homecountry Finland and tell stories about my other adventures around the world.

Vegetarian food is what I do the best in the kitchen.

I want to get to know your culture, I am ready to listen and learn from what you have to say about the world.

Sharing cultures, meeting new people and having conversations is why I am in couchsurfing.
