About Me

I am currently living in Aberdeen, Scotland during term-time (September to May) as an undergrad studying Anthropology. I am relatively new to couch surfing, although my experience of it thus far is quite great. I have definitely found I prefer it to other forms of accommodation whilst traveling, and not just because it is the best option financially. It is a great opportunity to meet new people and better explore the places cities I'm staying at.

However, I cannot host during term-time due to the fact that I am staying in dorms during term-time. During the winters and summers I tend to go home to Egypt, and so any traveling and surfing I do will probably be while I'm in Scotland.

I only host in Egypt during the winter and summer breaks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling, to me, is about a lot more than seeing the most popular sights and getting good photographs, although that is definitely a lot of fun, I'd also like to create friends along the way. I love meeting new people, visiting new places, and trying different things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen to some rap, indie, rock, and singer-songwriter/folk, and am always up for being introduced to new music.

Movie/series junkie, don't have a specific genre that's a favourite. Netflix can be addictive. I watch everything from Game of Thrones and Dear White People to RuPaul's Drag Race and The Great British Bake Off.

As for books, I would say that GRRM's A Song of Ice and Fire series are top of my list, and I'm a little resigned to the idea that there is actually no next one coming out.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving in the Red Sea, it's definitely an experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

For hosts: I can help in the kitchen, or around the house with anything that needs doing, such as the dishes, or any other chores.

Countries I’ve Visited
