About Me

Hi! My name is Rory Cullen. I'm an actor and poet from Washington DC, living in Los Angeles!
I went to Bennington College, in Vermont, where I studied theater and literature.
Have spent a lot of time all over the country, in NYC, Vermont, DC, Houston, LA, Chicago, etc.
I'm an aspiring actor and haven't traveled as much as I would like to due to financial constraints, but I'm trying to make that change this year and beyond!
I love to cook, go to concerts, stay in and read, see great films, and spend days wandering around museums.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've got a friend who is farming in San Rafael and I'm picking her up from the farm. We wanted to stay a couple nights and explore San Francisco (a city I've never been to before, but she has)!
We're planning on spending a good chunk of time in Haight-Ashbury, going thrifting, walking around, etc.
If you know of good places to spend time or sights we've gotta see while we're there, please let us know! Specifically thinking of hitting up MoMa SF while we're there! Or doing some hikes in Richmond. We are very open.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my favorite books include Stoner by John Williams, Jesus' Son by Denis Johnson, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, And The Art of Cruelty by Maggie Nelson! Also love to read/write poetry: I'm always happy to give and take suggestions for new work to read :)
Some of my favorite musical artists include Kamasi Washington, Kate Bush, Mitski, Prince, Frank Ocean, & more!
As for films, I love "In The Mood For Love," "La Haine," "Atonement," and "The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy" !

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

You know those jars where they ask you to guess how much of "blank" is in the container?
I guessed how many garlic knots were in a jar at a pizza place. I won a free slice. I felt so powerful.
