About Me
Hi there! I'm really excited to be on coachsurfing, so many cool people in one place! This is my first long term travel trip and it's been spectacular so far. I'm a digital nomad and work while travelling. I've been working remotely as a Structural Engineer for a firm in London but just quit that and am trying to start my own business as an Inventor. The inventing is a childhood dream that I'm very passionate about. 2 and a half years and no income yet but I love it so I'll stick at it. It took a while but I finally learned it's much better to earn no money doing something you love than earn money doing something you don't! I'm polite, chilled, conscientious and just love meeting and sharing with new people
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The thing I love most about travel is the people you meet. They are the true riches you gain from this lifestyle. Coachsurfing seems a great way to meet people in new places. The backpacker/hostel scene is fun but I also find it hard. You make wonderful friends, bond, spend time together and then have to part ways so soon! I like the long term friends you get from staying in one place longer. I've just spent four months in Chiang Mai and it's been fantastic! I have a great group of friends here that will be hard to say bye to.
Interests
My passion is inventing and design. I committed to it 2 and half years ago and have been working on it ever since. I've just quit my Engineering career and am in the inventing 100%. I love personal development and spend a lot of time on this. I also like to meditate. I'm big on exercise and have spent two months learning Muay Thai in Thailand. I love to swim, cycle and run. I used to cycle 20 miles a day in London getting to work and back, cycling over the river Thames as the city was waking up was glorious. Back in 'old blighty' I also used to do fly fishing and clay pigeon shooting. One of my big goals at the moment is to learn to surf! I'm also a sucker for a bit science and cosmology. One of my fave TV shows is Cosmos.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've invented a new kind of padlock and built a working prototype! I've used the cheaper economy in Thailand to get in to 3D printing and laser cutting and it's been a blast. I'm now trying to license the padlock and have some good interest :) Very excited, this would be a dream come true!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show you how to license ideas to companies so they do the work for you and send you cheques. It's easier than you think ;) Everyone has at least one idea for a new or better way of doing something I think.
I love talking about development and habit creation. I have some really simple techniques and habits that bring huge results. I've taught some of them to people in Chiang Mai lately and they can't believe how effective they are, I'd love to share them with more people!
I'm also an experienced Engineer and am a very practical and methodical problem solver. Give me a problem and I'll help you with it!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Structural/Civil Engineering advice.
Conversation about big dreams and plans. I've been lucky enough to help and motivate friends to take the plunge and go for their dreams! They also helped me do the same.
Tips on healthy and mindful living
An exercise buddy.
Good company. I love just hanging out and chatting about your interests. Or better yet tagging along and doing them with you!
I'm always keen to give back and would like to chip in around the house. Whether it be cleaning, chores, errands, gardening etc.
