About Me
Hello! My name is Rosa. I was born in Britain to a British mother and Austrian father, but grew up in Baltimore, USA.
I have been fortunate enough to have done a great deal of travelling throughout my life (mostly in Europe). This past January, I travelled through China for a month with my elderly father. Before that, I was living in Norway for 8 months, studying and working at a climate change social enterprise.
This past May, I graduated university, earning a self-designed interdisciplinary degree in Food Systems Policy. Come September, I will start a fellowship in San Diego, California where I will be working at an anti-hunger organization. For this reason - and because it is especially paramount in American life today - I set out to revive dormant Spanish skills this summer.
I just finished 5 weeks of teaching English and studying Spanish at a local language school in a small town in rural Colombia and am now in Bogotá until August 8th.
I have been enchanted by Colombia's friendly culture, ethnic and biological diversity, complex social and political history, and delicious food - getting to know the country's vibrant capital through the eyes of a local would be a wonderful way to end my journey here!
