About Me

Hey I'm Rosa! Having grown up in the small-town nation's capital, Canberra, I moved to Melbourne to do my Bachelor of Arts. My majors were English Literature and Screen and Cultural Studies, and I'm planning on doing some postgrad study in Screen and Cultural studies. I love living in Melbourne because it's one of the few places in Australia that is truly multicultural, artistic, and striving towards acceptance of people of all backgrounds. And there's so much amazing food!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Towards the end of 2017 I'll begin some postgraduate study in the United States, and I'm hoping to do a big trip around the country before I have to knuckle down and hit the books again. Have never been to USA so I'm really excited!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite films at the moment are Annie Hall, Captain Fantastic, The Life Aquatic, The Royal Tenenbaums, Psycho, Babel, Drive, In The Mood For Love and anything with early Hugh Grant.

I'm listening to Blood Orange, Otis Redding, Angel Olsen, Leonard Cohen, Dusty Springfield, Father John Misty, Nick Cave, David Bowie, Madonna, Sharon van Etten, Cat Power, Frank Ocean, Rihanna and anything that comes on Smooth FM.

Favourite writers are Sylvia Plath, Susan Sontag, Helen Garner, Pablo Neruda, TS Eliot, E.E Cummings, Gertrude Stein and Ezra Pound.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last year I studied in Nanjing, China for a month and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I loved China's food and people, the huge, silent countryside and the gigantic cities. When I visited the Great Wall it was the beginning of winter - there was almost no one else up there and a light dusting of snow made the view even more special.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to practice my German with someone, and help others practice English.
