Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and seeing the world through the eyes of a local. I appreciate sightseeing, but I find the greatest beauty in observing the little pleasures of daily life and how people interact. Hearing the stories and experiences of others inspires me to be more open, loving, and kind and pushes me to explore and learn more with each day.

My current goal is to make a local friend in each country I visit.

Interests

I understand people and places through food, coffee, and good conversation. I'm intensely curious about science/medicine/health and its intersections with art.

I am passionate about mindfulness, meditation, and the outdoors. Yoga and running serve as moving meditation and provide me a sense of calm that allows me to recenter and the world with calmness, composure, and generosity.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen to mainly R&B, hip hop, soul, acoustic, and alternative.

Movie: depends on my mood, but ranges from terribly indulgent romantic comedies to intense psychological thrillers.

Books: non-fiction is my jam! Especially love biographies, memoirs, and travel writing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Despite my acrophobia, I've gone skydiving and trapezing, and love rock climbing.

Amazing to me but perhaps to no one else: after 22 years, finally learning to bike and drive this year (2016)- looking to further expand my world through my travels.
