Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experience and understand things I can't currently comprehend, make connections with all sorts of people, and learn from everyone I meet.
ABOUT ME
I can be shy on first contact, but once I feel comfortable I become interested, connected, and outgoing. I absolutely follow my own path and am confident in my decisions. I love hanging out, relaxing and talking, and I also love going out and having adventures.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life regret free but learn from the mistakes you make. Don't judge people based on assumptions. Lend a hand whenever able.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on couchsurfing because I know that a key to peace, on a personal and global level, is to get to know people who are different from you and who push you to think about things in new ways. I believe in learning through experience and building strong relationships. I'd love to continue that through couch surfing!
Interests
I have been focused on food and food systems and cooking and baking for about a third of my life; I studied it in college and did internships about it and all I really want to do is be employed in a job that relates to food in some way. The things that most fascinate/inspire me me about food are:
-integrating the needs and realities of food system workers in the way I and others think about food everyday
-learning how to grow food myself
-creating systems that promote food sovereignty, especially for people who have had it taken away in the past
-helping people have access to the food they want in general
-collaborative cooking
-eating.. This is a big one.. I really, really love eating and I can't wait to do it more and more around the world
I'm also a huge fan of collaborative learning.. Ask me about that one!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was 13 years old, 12 family members and I returned to our roots in Hungary (My grandparents and their children escaped from Sopron in 1956). We were enjoying our last night in Hungary on the National day of celebration, St Stephen's day on August 20th. We gathered down by the Danube with at least a million other people to enjoy fireworks and celebrate. Less than five minutes after the fireworks started, a storm rolled in and within seconds of the first rain drop, we were drenched and everyone was trying to get to shelter and away from the river. My 17 year old brother and I were right down next to the water, several minutes walk from our family. All of a sudden we were packed in like sardines with thousands of other people pushing their way up small stairways to get to street level. It took a terrifying 10 minutes to find our family (who were all wearing improvised trash bag rain gear) and confirm that we were all okay (minus a cut leg and a few terrified parents). That whole trip was amazing, but looking back, the last night is what truly blew my mind.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to bake more than anything, and I would love to share that passion with the people I stay with and with the ones that stay with me! I can also promise to share the weird ideas and concepts that my wacky liberal arts educations offered me.
