About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a nice person, open minded, easy going and fun. I have a lot of friends and find it easy to talk and get on with almost everyone I meet... I'm currently living in Quito, Ecuador with my Boyfriend. I'm studying my PhD on Ecuadorian bees so spend a lot of my time in the Jungle. My boyfriend is also working here, his project involves working with Cacao producers in the Esmeraldas province. Martin is French and speaks very good Spanish so between us we have those 3 languages covered. We're happy to host if we are in Quito!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I'm finding out that couch surf is a great way to meet people and to get to know places a little better than maybe just a 'tourist'... Not just a free bed for the night but a great way to link up with really nice people!
As we are now living in the Historical center of Quito and have a spare room, we thought it would be a good opportunity to help out some travelers and meet different people. There's only a single mattress in the room and we don;t have bedding or anything but people are welcome to use it. There's also a couch available!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far two really good couch-surfing experiences in Argentina and Uruguay. I have also used couch-surfing for language exchange and to meet and make friends when visiting foreign places.

Interests

Well we both love to travel, to discover new places and meet interesting people. We are really sociable people.

I'm a biologist, mostly interested in evolutionary Biology and behavioural ecology. As I mentioned I'm currently studying bees but have also spent time in Kenya working with primates. I love nature and the outdoors.

Martin has worked and lived in many different countries, working with small producer organisations. He is currently working on a small scale project to preserve the Choco rainforest with the help of local cacao producers.

We also love and listen to lots and lots of all types of good music from all over the world... films.. friends...fun!
