About Me
Hey there!
***********************************************************************************
At first, a few tips for writing us a request -no worries, we don't require too much! :)
1. Please, read our profile and only write to us, if we sound like persons you would like to hang-out with. We may not have time to do sight-seeing with you, but we always like to spend some time with our guests.
2. Show in your request that you've read our profile.
3. You don't have to write a novel. I should find the basic info about you in your profile and the rest is something we can talk about when we meet, right? Just tell a bit about your plans in Finland and why you'd like to stay in our place.
4. No last minute requests, please. 1-2 weeks in advance works the best.

Since you'll mostlikely end up spending some time with my lovely traveling companion and boyfriend Tomi, too, here's a brief description of both of us (he doesn't have an own profile):
We both share a passion for travelling. And we both earn our living by working on construction sites.
Riikka loves nature and spends a great amount of her freetime outdoors with her dog. Meanwhile Tomi often sits in a pub with his mates and watches Arsenal playing, or he's running after some sort of ball himself (he's a sports addict unless he has hurt or twisted some part of his body as he usually has). ;)
Riikka loves dancing, architecture and design, Tomi tasting small brewery craft-beers. Tomi reads a lot and bakes yammy rolls. Riikka likes to try to cook similar things she's been eating on her travels (often not with that great results, tho Tomi usually praises it's really good :P).
On Sunday mornings we sip loads of coffee and listen to music. Indeed, music and coffee have an important role in our lives! Tomi plays some weird sudoku-like-games to let his mind calm while Riikka is planning future travels and doing some research for that. When we travel we walk _a lot_ and try to see and taste as much new things as we can. And we are always excited like little kids if we catch even a glimpse of a local animal, bird, etc.
And of course, among all the other things, we love to spend time with our friends! The old and new. :) Hope to see you soon!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It gives you a chance to: meet amazing people, see new places through local eyes, experience things you probably wouldn't otherwise do, help people to make the best of their time around your hoods, learn more, give more...
Surely, the hospitality of other CS members gives you a chance to save up some money, too, but for me it has always been a secondary reason. Especially nowadays, when poor student life is further and further away and paying for a decent bed isn't a problem anymore. ;) It's all about the people, I'd say!
So, if I my schedule is very busy I rather not host. And in fact, it's the same ideology when I'm travelling: if I already know I won't have enough spare time to just hang around with my host, I won't bother them and I'll rather do my touristy things on my own. :D However, a little bit of CS every now and then spices up the life, for sure!
