Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Im on couch surfing to explore a more local approach to travel. I'm finally seeing countries I have wanted to see to for ages, and I want to immerse myself in culture and really be there.

I feel as though couch surfing is a great way to do that!

Interests

I love beautiful things, whether it be art, film, nature, personalities, people. Im always laughing and I consciously try to keep my world light.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book is 'The Five People You Meet in Heaven' by Mitch Albom. An incredibly heart warming story and the book that made me fall in love with reading.

The films I love slip my mind sometimes when put on the spot, but I love Australian films such as The Little Death and Beautiful Kate. Also anything with Denzel Washington, great guy. I love satirical comedy seen in films like 'What We Do in the Shadows' or anything Wes Anderson.

My musical taste varies so much depending on my mood but here are a few artists I love ... The Fugees, Drake, Maribou State, The Internet, Kanye West, Slum Sociable, Nina Simone, SBTRKT, Michael Buble (Guilty pleasure....also the Moulin Rouge soundtrack), Jose Gonzales, Tame Impala, Jungle.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've ice skated on the second level of the Eiffel Tower. And helped put out a car fire once. Incidents are unrelated.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to re-upholster furniture - if the opportunity ever arises, or the desire to learn is there. I have basic cooking skills but can whip up a couple quick delicious dishes which I am happy to share.

I have an affinity with collecting little facts and tid bits of information, so if I can recall them in the moment you will be privy to them regardless of whether you want to be or not.

I would love to learn new languages - especially sign language but I don't know how realistic sign language is on this trip. But ! idealistic as I said earlier. I am also willing to help anyone with English if need be.
