ABOUT ME

I was born in England but grew up in New Zealand, and am currently in Europe for the summer. I am a documentary film maker. I love music, food, travel, art and people and although I am sometimes a little shy when first meeting people. I love to have a good time. My idea of a good time includes going out for a party as well as sitting and talking or reading a book. I love to see new cultures and meet new people and I always try to pick up a little of the local language where ever I go, taste the local cooking, learn some history and just to talk to the people!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is beautiful and devastating, all we can do is try to balance the devastation with as much beauty and love as we can.
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world" Mahatma Gandhi said this, it is my favorite quote and I try to live by it, though no one is perfect.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been fortunate enough to be able to both surf and host, wich I enjoyed equally. When I stay with someone I like to cook food or contribute in some way to show my appreciation. When I host I try to offer company but also space for people to do their own thing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All great and interesting experiences. The two that stand out the most are my first surf and my first host. The first time I surfed was in a little one bedroom flat in Athens which hosted about 5-10 people on average every night, so much fun! Also I really enjoyed the first time that I hosted because it gave me the chance to look at my home city, Auckland, with fresh eyes and see how beautiful it is, by showing it to travelers.

Interests

I am passionate about human rights and the work of Amnesty International, I love film and drama, music, Art, history and economics (probably a subject better avoided unless you find it interesting too:P).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Starting a film-making commune. Traveling to Botswana to shoot a documentary.
