CURRENT MISSION

Having the year abroad, my current mission is to travel Europe and get to know about each country and culture as best as possible in my travels and fuly experience each of my many destinations to really get to know the places I go.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 20 yr old American college student studying abroad for the year in Italy double majoring in Comparative Literature and Italian Language and Literature. I llove learning about different cultures and going new places. Rather than being solely a tourist when I travel, I love to fully absorb myself in the life and culture of each city I visit.
Though I'm always up for a night out, I'll take good drink and good company over a club any day of the week. I'm pretty laid back, travel light, and try to avoid limiting myself to concrete plans when I can- I love to travel and discover new places and people spontaneously and just go with the flow (I find that makes for richer and far more interesting experiences anyway!)
Also, I am a smoker but a consciencious one- I always ask permission to smoke around others because hey, I get it, not everyone enjoys living in a cloud of 2nd hand smoke.
I love having debates and convos about pretty much any topic, but when it comes to politics I do not tolerate descrimination in any form nor the pushing of ideas on others. To each his own!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Because I am studying abroad and live in a tiny apartment with a family, I am unable to host as sad as that is. I hate to ask for places to stay knowing I cannot reciprocate, but it is what it is =/

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have only couchsurfed once during a trip to Amsterdam but it was such a great experience, I now plan on trying to couchsurf every time I travel. Such a wonderful way to get to know people and the city. I'm still in touch with my host and though I can't host anyone I'm always down to chill or help a friend find accomodations/things to do in Florence.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- I'll listen to anything, I love discovering new music and sharing music with others. Not down with country (but I love folk, bluegrass, etc.). The fastest way to my heart is introducing me to something I haven't heard before. I also have some hardcore soft spots for the musical trinity: Jazz, Blues, and Classic Rock. But seriously, don't get me started on music unless you're prepared for an hour long convo or more.
Movies- Stanley Kubrick is the best director of all time. But seriously, movie nights are my favorite kind of night. Any genre, any time.
Books- I'm a Comp Lit major so I read A LOT. Fovorite authors include: John Irving, Wally Lamb, Henry Miller and the like but I'll read any book I can get absorbed in.
