ABOUT ME

I am a laid back person, and I love to read a good book while curled up with a nice cup of tea. I love listening to all kinds of music and experiencing local culture and as well as historical sites. I love attending flea markets and vintage shops, as well as bookstores (preferably secondhand) and libraries. I live just outside rainy Seattle, but I love the sunshine as much as I love a good thunderstorm. I am looking forward to experiencing more of the world and meeting wonderful new people of all cultures!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a few surfers and enjoyed each experience! I have also been a guest of cs hosts while I backpacked through Europe fall 2015-spring 2016.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have really enjoyed hosting people when I can and showing them my city and the surrounding area, I think we live in a beautiful place and I consider myself very lucky to be able to enjoy both the big city and nature in my backyard. I also couchsurfed some through Europe (only taking hostels where I had to) since my tight budget wouldn't let me hang out in cushy hotels the whole time (and I wouldn't want to)!

Interests

I love live music, nature, tasty (and affordable!) food and drinks in cafes and restaurants, and going bar hopping. Reading is one of my favorite pass-times, as is shopping in flea markets and vintage shops, and I can spend HOURS poking through a secondhand bookstore. I like light hiking excursions (I am not as in shape as I wish I was) and picnics in the sunshine. I am always excited to meet new people :)

I love all kinds of music, movies, and books!
Some of my favorites are as follows:
Music- Mumford and sons, Lana Del Rey, Florence and the Machine, Adele, Miguel, Frank Ocean, Aloe Blacc, Sam Smith, John Newman, The Beatles, vintage jazz, funk, etc.
Movies- Moulin Rouge, Pan's Labyrinth, Labyrinth, Better Off Dead, Jersey Boys, Tron: Legacy, LOTR/Hobbit franchise, Harry Potter movies, Star Wars, The Artist, Ted, Willow, The Sandlot, Chicago, Step Brothers, and Everything Disney.
Books: Peter Pan, Le Petit Prince, The Outlander Series, The Fellowship of the Ring, Fire in the Blood, The Handmaid's Tale, Touch Not The Cat, Claire, The Timber Beast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was an Au Pair in France for a couple months. It was amazing because it was my first time in Europe, first trip by myself, and first taste of alcohol.
Then I solo backpacked for 3 months in Europe with eurail and spent 6 months in the UK using workaway. It was all in one 9 month trip that changed my life!

Teach, Learn, Share

It is hard for me to think of something I can teach or share. I make tasty guacamole, and I have a pretty good vocabulary in english too so I suppose that is something to share :)
I am so interested in languages! I don't think I'll be the greatest at pronunciation or anything, but I love to learn new languages so please teach me a phrase or two! :D
