ABOUT ME

I am a painter. I love to play music. Also I love coffee and tea and food. I love to meet people and share ideas! I am constantly creating, and if we meet I will most likely carry art supplies and an instrument with me.
Spending time with people is what inspires me most. I love how people are different in all aspects of their personalities. Sharing a cup of coffee with someone is one of my favorite things to do.
I am always looking to learn a new song. I share music aurally and am most interested in old style singing. Do you have a lullaby or ballad to share?

I last traveled to Norway to learn folk music. (2011)

Interests

I like to travel, hike, eat, paint, watch movies, cook, pet my cat Thor, play fiddle, play harp, color, dance, sew, garden, watch clouds, learn, play, swing, jump, float on water... really anything that is fun, involves food and friends.

I have never gone kayaking but I want to as soon as I can!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Song of the Sea, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Code 46, Princess Mononoke, Coraline, Spirited Away, Nowhere, Harry Potter, Kung Fu Panda. p.s. I loke most movies!!

Books: Mostly I collect unique picture books by fine artists like Red Tree by Shaun Tan. I enjoy poetry by E.E. Cummings and may have collected all of his books. Hafiz. I read art books and books on healing and cooking. Also I can from time to time read a fantasy novel.

Music: I deeply love music. I love old folk ballads, lullabys and farming songs. Bands I love: Björk, Andrew Bird, Ólöf Arnalds, Takenobu, KishiBashi, Valravn, mum, Sigur Ros, Unni Løvlid, Olav Luksengård Mjelva, Kim Andre Ryystad...
I play fiddle and love music with a fiddle in it. I also enjoy heavier music like NIN and Tool. I like trip hop, electronica, glitch, some hip hop, and mellow sad music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taken the train all over beautiful Norway! Rode a bicycle in the mist through Sassenheim (Holland) to see my favorite music performed next to a castle! Ate pølse in the rain while watching the best fiddlers I have ever met in Oppdal. Drank coffee in 5 different countries in 1 day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach:
espresso and coffee making- Portland, Oregon style;
Irish songs on the fiddle;
painting, drawing, collage;
how to cook Mexican, Thai, Balanese/Thai and American food;
English- from Pacific Northwestern USA;
how to eat cupcakes;
how to edit photos on Photoshop;
how to tattoo;
some baking.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am fun and happy and love to share new things. I enjoy sharing but also adventuring. If you would like a happy guest that is thankful and curious I am that guest! I can play music with you or just share happy stories or good food. I have been known to leave a painting behind, too!
